This morning's news reports that now it's steering troubles on some 2010 Toyota Corollas.  Can't help but feel bad for my sister.  She waited and waited to buy a new car, all the while driving her old Honda Civic wagon and starting to spend serious money to fix various problems that it developed.  Finally she settled on a 2010 Corolla, and guess what's happened since.

So far her own Corolla has experienced no problems that anyone can perceive.  It is, in fact, an excellent car from my point of view.  However the anxiety that these announcements keep generating is not any fun for the individual car owner and not so good for Toyota Motor Company either.

Everyone hopes the bad news will stop pretty soon, except perhaps for other car manufacturers.

Now my sister, with a 2010 Corolla, is making noises about not driving it even as far as Irvine, and she's a reasonably brave person. I would hate to think that I have to schlep her that far in my Subaru Forester. On the other hand, what if I refused to take her and she got into an accident? I understand the accelerator problem is a half-hour fix, but you have to wait until you're called in to get it done. This is a dilemma for a lot of people.
